Based in Nassau, Bahamas, More Than Words Therapy Solutions Ltd. is a private practice offering an array of speech therapy services from infancy to geriatrics. Our mission is to provide our clients with the experience, integrity and personal involvement needed to reach their highest level of functioning possible.

Through client-centered and evidence-based treatment, MTW seeks to improve the quality of life for each client across the lifespan; through the facilitation of functional speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing skills. Moreover, we strive to maximize our clients’ potential by working collaboratively with families and other professionals.

Meet Laurel
Laurel Smith-Albury, MPH, MS CCC-SLP
Owner/Founder
More Than Words Therapy Solutions Ltd. (MTW) was founded by Laurel Smith-Albury, MPH, MS CCC-SLP. Mrs. Smith-Albury is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who graduated from Howard University in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders where she specialized in the medical and technology disciplines. She is a dedicated and experienced SLP who has provided speech therapy services in a variety of settings, including schools, inpatient and outpatient medical facilities, and private practice. The diverse training that Mrs. Smith-Albury has accumulated has helped her become a specialist in working with both adults and children. She has extensive experience working with children with weaknesses in speech, language, and social skills. Her adult experience ranges from dysphagia, neurological disorders, cognition, and complex medical conditions.
Mrs. Smith-Albury holds a Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and is licensed with The Bahamas Health Professions Council. She is also a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). As a lifelong learner, Mrs. Smith-Albury is dedicated to professional development to improve her skill set. She has attended continuing education courses related to speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, autism, early intervention, aphasia, and adult dysphagia. Mrs. Smith-Albury is passionate about the field of speech-language pathology, and she always aims to provide a relaxed, positive, and fun therapy environment for her clients.
